Afoqt Practice Test Pdf Free Download

The AFOQT is broken down into 12 different individual topics. However, two of them are based strictly on your personality and judgement. The Self-Description Inventory is an ungraded portion of the test that lets the USAF get a glimpse into who you are. The second of these–the situational judgement topic–is uniquely graded. But it's just to see how you'd react given certain circumstances.

Best AFOQT Practice Tests

One of the best ways to use your preparation time for the AFOQT most efficiently and effectively is to read through study guides and take their practice tests. However, not all study guides are equal. In order to save you from suffering through a bad study guide, Military Flight Tests took the time to check out your AFOQT study guide options. Based on our research, we think the following are best for the AFOQT, especially due to their Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT) practice tests.

Below is my recommendation of the top study guides due to their AFOQT practice exams and their level of difficulty.

#1. The Complete AFOQT Study Guide 2020-2021

The The Complete AFOQT Study Guide 2020-2021 is one of the few guides to deal with the AFOQT, the whole AFOQT and nothing but the AFOQT. This is advantageous over guides which focus on all three branches of the military's flight aptitude tests.

By choosing this guide, you ensure that all of the material contained within it will be relevant to the actual AFOQT test you will take. This book contains a solid AFOQT practice exam section which will enable you to become familiar with the type of questions you will face on the AFOQT and the process of answering them within the time constraints you will face.

#2. AFOQT Study Guide: AFOQT Prep and Study Book

This AFOQT Study Guide has an impressive amount of practice questions when it comes to taking the AFOQT.

However, it doesn't do as great of a job teaching the subject matter. And on top of that, there are many typos within both the text and answer key that can make things confusing.

Nevertheless, it still provides a great question bank for those seeking out different types of questions.

#3. AFOQT Study Guide 2020-2021: AFOQT Exam Prep and Practice Questions

This guide is another solid example for an AFOQT study guide. It explains things decently–though not as good as our number one pick–and has an alright practice test.

The issue with this book is that it doesn't really stand out. It doesn't explain as in-depth as our top selection, and it doesn't have as many test questions as our second.

Add that to an expensive cost, it just seems lacking in value.

Extra AFOQT Practice Exams to Try

There are a couple of other AFOQT practice tests online for you to try, although many of them are extremely easy, and in some cases are not an excellent representation of what you'll find on the exam.

  • AFOQT Practice Test by 4 Tests
  • Extra Block Counting Questions by AFOQTGuide
  • Extra Instrument Comprehension Questions by AFOQTGuide

Other Online AFOQT Resources

You will also be able to find other study aides such as PDF study guides and flashcards. These can be somewhat helpful, but they don't take the place of a dedicated study guide.

Eligibility Requirements for the AFOQT

There are two main ways to go about becoming an Officer in the US Air Force. However, both of the them require you to be a college graduate.

US Air Force ROTC

If you're enrolled in the Air Force ROTC program at your college, there's nothing more that you need to do. You will take the AFOQT as part of your curriculum.

Air Force Recruitment Center

For those college grads who didn't go through ROTC and are interested, you're going to need to seek out a recruiter. Head over to your local USAF recruitment office and let them know you're interested. After evaluating you and establishing your eligibility, the recruiter will arrange for you to take a proctored AFOQT at the Military Entrance Processing (MEP's) station assigned to your locale.

How Much Does It Cost to Take the AFOQT?

There are zero upfront costs to actually taking the AFOQT. All you need to do is schedule it and show up on time.

However, I highly recommend that NOT what you do. The AFOQT is a serious stepping stone into becoming a US Air Force Officer. You need to fully prepare prior to taking the exam. There are plenty of free resources available. But none of them are as expansive as a dedicated study guide like the ones we recommend above.

AFOQT Test Scores and Composite Scores

The AFOQT (Air Force Officer Qualifying Test) is a standardized test that helps to qualify you for an officer position in the US Air Force. But that doesn't mean everyone who passes can do every job available. The AFOQT is a full battery of tests that ultimately lets you and the USAF know what areas you're most likely to thrive–depending on how you score in each section.

The minimum required score to become any kind of officer within the Air Force is a 15 verbal composite and a 10 quantitative composite. What that actually means is all up to speculation seeing as we don't know the Air Force's secret formula for calculating these numbers.

However, we do know which sections apply towards each composite subset.

In addition to the two subsets we just mentioned, there are three more totaling to five composite subsets in all. They are (and accordingly broken down into their respective test topic sections):

Quantitative Composite

This composite is based on your math scores.

  • Arithmetic Reasoning
  • Math Knowledge

Verbal Composite

The verbal composite relies on your vocabulary, written, and word skills.

  • Verbal Analogies
  • Word Knowledge
  • Reading Comprehension

Pilot Composite

Becoming a pilot for the USAF requires a bit more than being accepted as a standard officer. You'll need to pass higher in certain sections to apply.

  • Math Knowledge
  • Instrument Comprehension
  • Table Reading
  • Aviation Information

As you can see, these sections are directly related to topics a pilot would have to know.

CSO (Combat Systems) Composite

In order to become a Combat Systems Officer, you're going to need to be able to solve mission critical issues. That's because CSO's are often directly involved with mission planning, mission timing, threat assessment, and hazard avoidance. These particular sections are required for CSO applicants:

  • Math Knowledge
  • Word Knowledge
  • Table Reading
  • Block Counting

ABM (Air Battle Managers) Composite

Do you see yourself leading and controlling a flight battalion? If so, you may be looking to assume an AMB role. This is the most restrictive of the subsets. You'll need to excel in most every section to qualify for this job.

  • Word Knowledge
  • Verbal Analogies
  • Table Reading
  • Aviation Information
  • Instrument Comprehension
  • Block Counting
